The plot as it unfolds

Gru is a changed man now. He have left the world of crime a long ago. He is a doting father now to 3 girls Margo, Edith and Agnes. He is a businessman now and he wants to live genuine life only.

However there is something else destined for him in the heart of the future.

In the beginning of the movie we see that a mysterious vehicle using a huge magnet steals a highly potent mutagen known as PX-41 from a secret laboratory in the Arctic Circle.

The Anti-Villain League (AVL), have decided look into the matter and find who stole it. In order to capture the one who can execute such a dangerous task swiftly the AVL contacted Gru to lead the investigation. Gru, however wanted to live a normal life with his kids refused it.

Also the girls were missing to have a “mom” and was looking forward to have one, so Gru need to imply his efforts in that area also.

The circumstances lead it to a way where Gru ultimately decide to work for AVL and he was partnered with a beautiful AVL agent Lucy Wilde. On the other hand Dr. Nefario, Gru’s friend and inventor of many gadgets have decided to leave for better employment, before sometime ago. He was missing the spark of being evil and thrills of the same.

Will Gru and Lucy be able to resolve the case of theft? Will Gru and Dr. Nefario be in touch with each other anytime soon? Who is the villain (or say Super villain) who have executed the theft? Will the girls be able to get a loving and caring mom for them? All these questions are answered in the rest of the movie.

Views and Reviews

Many incidents in the movie (like its predecessor – Despicable Me – are inspired by James Bond movies. And they are fun to explore. The real hero of the movie are the special effects, which are of fabulous quality. It is much better than those in the previous installment. The SFX and VFX department’s hard work is visible on screen. Regardless of whether you watch it in cinema hall or home theater, or on regular Television set, you will be able to see the detailing and will surely admire it.

The voice artists have a responsibility to live the character through their voice, and they all succeed in doing it. Of course the protagonists got to do more dubbing but almost everyone have put in their genuine efforts during recording.

The script plays a vital role in all movies, but they require special attention when you are making an animation movie where your primary target audience is kids. You have to plant humor and thrills together. At the end of the movie, you need to show that good qualities won. And the excitements should remain reflective throughout. We must say that the writers did good job here. And with a few misses they almost hit the target.

The background music is very effective and it adds to the positives of the movie. It plays a good aide to the scenes and special effects to make their impact even stronger. The dialogs are simple and witty.

We bought the DVD from Amazon when it was available at a very competitive rate during a sale, and we found it worth the price. The DVD quality is satisfactory in terms of Audio and Video both. The movie is dubbed in many languages (including Hindi) and if you are not much familiar with English and keen to watch it, you can look for the regional language alternative for you.
