Krrish 3 | Bollywood Superhero Movie | Hindi Film | Personal Reviews

Hrithik Roshan films are known for his performance mainly. Be it a commercially hit movie or not, but Hrithik’s performance is praised. Rakesh Roshan is one of those Bollywood film makers who adopted the changes in the technology, interest of people and other aspects of film making, possibly more than all other makers from his generation. Krrish -3, the latest movie by this father-son duo is making good business and already declared a commercially hit.

It must be said that Krrish-3 is not fully original story. It is borrowed from a lot of Hollywood block busters including X-Men, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman Trilogy, Superman movies, Matrix Trilogy,… to name a few. (In that context evenKoi Mil Gaya borrowed a lot from E. T., shaolin soccer and other movies).

What works here is the mixture of feelings, emotion and Indian-ness. Despite of getting Deja-Vu feeling for the scenes, people enjoy them for its quality. Despite people found a lot of dialogs heard a long ago in Bollywood commercial movies and predictable story-line, people like the entertainment quotient of the same, making the movie earning a lot.

Rohit Mehra – the scientist have superior brain and child-like behavior in his personality. He is a scientist and now lives happily with his son Krishna aka Krrish and daughter-in-law Priya. Like all the super-heroes Krrish also need to get some job for earning, but he fails performing in job as he need to be Krrish at various point of time in order to save humanity. Priya is having a stable career as a reporter.

Impressed a lot from Jaadu’s powers since his early age, Rohit keeps researching on Solar energy. He was curious to found a way which let the dead cells use that energy. His experiments didn’t met the final success yet, due to the high intensity of the solar rays though.

Rohit hears about a disease spread in Namibia (an African country) due to a virus. The disease is unconquerable so far because no anti-dot for the same can be prepared to counter-attack the virus. He consults his friend Dr. Varun Shetty in the same regards. Dr. Shetty also receive a call from Dr. Sen who works at Kaal laboratories. Dr. Sen asked that he want to meet Dr. Shetty to reveal some facts about the deadly virus. But, both Dr. Shetty and Dr. Sen was killed by Kaya.

Now we got to know that Kaya is a mutant who is having power to change the shape (remember Terminator II, III), and she is a henchwoman of Kaal. Kaal is a mutant himself having a superior brain but paralyzed body (remember X-Men) so he is wheelchair bound. He actually have a brigade of mutants – called Manvars (the fusion of the words Manav – Human, Janvar – animal). The sole anti-dot to the virus can be made from …. well, we are not revealing that, but Kaal know it and he spread the virus to create demand of the vaccine for the same, and earn a lot of money via it.

When there is a good force implementing all efforts to save the humanity, the planet and the good stuff; and there is an evil force who left no stone unturned to wreak havoc, their path must cross somewhere, right? So Rohit, Priya, Krishna (Krrish), and Kaal and his manvars including Kaya have to face a clash! That is the rest of the story which moves ahead with some typical Hindi movie turns, sometimes making you shocked as well.

If to say about the performances, it is out and out Hrithik Roshan movie where he plays three roles Rohit, Krishna, Krrish and his transformation from one to the other is amazing. The movie again proves his excellence. His muscular shoulder carries the weight of people and maker’s expectation from him, pretty well. The movie is surely to be career-best (so far) for Vivek Oberoi and his career(!) will get a new life for sure. (Grand Masti was a commercial success but in terms of performance, he didn’t get meaty role after Mishion Istaanbul though, which should be remembered). Priyanka Chopra lives her role effortlessly and she looks pretty too. After Kites, this is second time, Kangana got a good role in Roshan movies and she delivers. There are actors who play smaller roles convincingly and there are a few of them in this movie too.

The background music is first rate. The songs have a compulsory item number (Raghupati Raghav), the title song (Krrish Krrish), duet (Dil Tu Hi Bata), philosophical (God, Allah, Bhagvan) but we definitely expect much more from Rajesh Roshan and we feel him under-performed.

The actions are of International quality like the special effects, and there are no two thoughts on the same. Rakesh Roshan is good at choosing right persons for right roles; be it a cast or crew, technician or anyone else; and it is shown here.

The other good aspect of the movie is, you can watch it with family. Now, even TV shows are also coming in, need-to-be-censored category, this matters.

So it is a typical Bollywood movie with predictable and unpredictable turns, emotions (and even dialogs), borrowing a lot from Hollywood movies to make a cocktail. It is made with international quality, primarily made for children but surely enjoyable by all.
